About the role
Love leading from the floor?
If your favourite part of hospitality is being out with your team, delivering exceptional service and watching a busy restaurant come together, this could be exactly what you're looking for.
Wayfinder Winery is looking for a Restaurant Manager to lead our restaurant at our brand new Cowaramup venue.
Set amongst our organic winery and market garden, you'll spend your days where great hospitality happens - on the floor, not behind a desk.
You'll lead service, support your team, read the room, adapt to the day's bookings and guest mix, work closely with the kitchen, drive our retail space and grow our wine club - all while creating the relaxed, premium experience that keeps guests coming back.
What's In It For You
This is your chance to help shape one of Margaret River's newest winery destinations from the beginning. You'll join a passionate team who genuinely care about great hospitality, where you'll have the opportunity to influence the guest experience, build your team and help create something special.
Competitive salary based on experience
The opportunity to lead an exciting new restaurant
A collaborative, supportive team culture
The chance to shape the future of Wayfinder Winery
A Day In The Role
No two services will look exactly the same.
One day you might be leading a relaxed lunch service. The next you'll be managing a full restaurant, balancing bookings, supporting your team, communicating with the kitchen and making decisions that keep service flowing from first seating to last table.
You'll coach your team during service, jump in wherever you're needed and lead by example every shift.
You'll also understand that great hospitality and a successful venue go hand in hand. From labour and service flow through to retail sales and growing our wine club, you'll know how to balance exceptional guest experiences with strong commercial performance.
Working alongside our Operations Manager and working completely from the floor (this is not a desk based role), you'll continue to lift service standards, develop your team and help shape the future of the venue.
You might thrive here if…
You're someone who genuinely enjoys being part of service, not watching it happen from an office.
You know how to read a room, adapt your approach when service gets busy and keep both your team and the kitchen working together. You're calm under pressure, confident making decisions and take pride in developing people just as much as creating memorable guest experiences.
You'll also bring:
Experience leading restaurant or front of house teams within premium and high-volume hospitality venues
Strong knowledge of sequence of service, floor management and guest experience
Experience coaching and developing front of house teams
Good food and wine knowledge
Commercial understanding of labour, spend per head and venue performance
Sound knowledge of liquor licensing and responsible service obligations
Food Safety Supervisor certification
Availability across evenings, weekends and peak service periods
Understanding that this is a floor-based position
