About the role
Birali Steiner School is situated at our purpose built, 26 acre site in Beachmere, with accreditation for Prep to Class 10. As a developing school, the requirement of flexibility is seen as an essential component of the position.
The position will be 21hr per week over 5 days (additional hours will be required initially dependent on the needs of the students). It is a Fixed Term Part-time, Term Time only role (plus required staff training days each term break), with initial placement in the middle primary, however class allocations may change each year. The role will be fixed term for up to 2 years, with the possibility of permanent thereafter.
The successful candidate will need to be able to work from 8.30am to 2.30pm Mon-Fri with the roster determined by the needs of the students.
Ideally the successful candidate would commence Monday 31st August.
Key Selection Criteria:
Certificate III in Education Support or higher
Current Blue card
Availability: Mon-Fri; 8.30am to 2.30pm
Experience supporting children in classroom learning (particularly strong literacy and math skills)
Experience supporting children with learning difficulties and supporting student engagement
First Aid & CPR certificate (or a willingness to engage in the required training)
Experience in Steiner Education preferred but not essential
Experience and willingness to engage with students of all ages from Prep to Class 10
Availability & willingness to attend camps

The roles are Level 3 Classroom support services (grade 3) under the Educational Services (Schools) General Staff Award 2020 with a current pay rate of $32.23 per hour (Birali pays above award rates). The annual salary would equate to 38 Term weeks + 4 weeks Annual Leave; paid fortnightly over 26.09 fortnights (annualised).
