Cafe Attendant

Join our team as a Café Attendant and bring warmth, energy, and quality service to our in-house café at Bankisa Lodge Broulee!

This is a chance to bring joy to residents, create a welcoming space for families and visitors, and be part of a caring team that values respect, empathy, and community.

As a Café Attendant you’ll help run a café service that mirrors the standards of a contemporary community café, while catering to the unique needs of residents in aged care.

You’ll work both independently and under the guidance of our Café Supervisor.

What you’ll do:

• Serve food and beverages safely and professionally

• Prepare light meals and a range of hot and cold drinks

• Operate POS systems and manage cash/EFT transactions

• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of café and service areas

• Re-stock and rotate inventory

• Monitor and report any equipment or supply issues

• Assist with light cleaning, dishwashing, and setting/resetting tables

What We’re Looking For:

Essential:

• Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices

• Experience using café equipment: coffee machines, sandwich press, dishwasher, etc.

• Minimum 1 years’ experience in a busy café

• Familiarity with POS and EFT systems

• Strong customer service and communication skills

• A genuine respect and empathy for older people
