The Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Accountant looking to build their technical expertise and progress towards an Accountant-level role. Leverage your existing experience while developing further exposure across month-end reporting, budgeting, analysis, compliance and broader accounting activities.

As an Assistant Accountant, your responsibilities will include:

• Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports
• Process general ledger journals and complete reconciliations
• Manage bank reconciliations and cash reporting
• Assist with month-end close including accruals, prepayments and depreciation
• Conduct variance analysis and provide commentary on P&L results
• Support budget preparation and monitor performance against budgets
• Assist with GST and other compliance reporting obligations
• Maintain fixed asset registers
• Liaise with a range of internal stakeholders
• Support audit processes and ad hoc finance projects
• Contribute to process and systems improvements

Your Profile:
You may currently be studying towards your CPA/CA qualification or looking to further develop your technical accounting experience. Most importantly, you will have the aspiration, dedication and motivation to continue progressing your accounting career.

• Proven experience as an Assistant Accountant seeking progression into an Accountant role; OR solid bookkeeping/accounting experience within an SME environment and ready to expand your skill set. Alternatively, you may have experience within an accounting firm and be looking to transition into a commercial environment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Team-focused and adaptable approach
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to interact confidently with a diverse range of stakeholders
• Strong willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities
