Locum Veterinary Nurse

At RSPCA WA, we're dedicated to improving the lives of animals and creating a better future through our care animal welfare services. We're seeking a Locum Veterinary Nurse to join our Animal Care Centre team in Malaga. 

About the role 

Working within our veterinary clinic, you'll support the treatment and wellbeing of animals from across our shelter and Inspectorate services. This hands-on role includes rotations through surgery, wards, and shelter care, offering variety and the opportunity to work with a wide range of animals. 

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Veterinary Nurse seeking locum work with hours that can fit around existing commitments. Hours are generally 8am-4pm or 8:30am-4:30pm Mon-Fri.

What you'll be doing 

• Assist with examinations, surgical procedures, anaesthetic monitoring, and post-operative care.

• Provide high-quality nursing care, including medication administration, diagnostic testing, and monitoring animal health and wellbeing.  

• Work collaboratively with the veterinary and animal welfare teams to deliver exceptional care to animals in need. 

About you 

You will be: 

• Certificate IV qualified in Veterinary Nursing and registered with the VPB. 

• An experienced Veterinary Nurse able to work confidently and independently. 

• Skilled in anaesthetic monitoring, patient care, laboratory testing, and animal handling. 

• Passionate about animal welfare and committed to high standards of care. 

• Comfortable working collaboratively in a busy and rewarding environment.
