Chef

This is an important role within our centre, and we are looking for someone who takes pride in maintaining exceptionally high standards of food safety, hygiene and allergy management.

About the Role As our Centre Chef, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious meals and snacks for children throughout the day while ensuring all dietary requirements, allergies and intolerances are managed with the highest level of care.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing fresh, nutritious and child-friendly meals and snacks
• Managing food allergies, intolerances and individual dietary requirements with exceptional attention to detail
• Maintaining strict food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness standards
• Following allergy management procedures to prevent cross-contamination
• Maintaining accurate records relating to meals, allergies and dietary requirements
• Completing food ordering, stock rotation and kitchen organisation
• Working closely with educators and Centre Management regarding children's dietary needs
• Ensuring meals are prepared in accordance with AMIGA Montessori policies and procedures

About You To be considered for this position, you must have:

• A recognised Chef or Commercial Cookery qualification
• Previous experience working as a Chef
• A strong understanding of food allergies, intolerances and cross-contamination risks
• Extremely high standards of food safety and hygiene
• Excellent organisation and time-management skills
• Strong attention to detail
• A genuine understanding of the importance of safely preparing food for young children
• The ability to work independently while being part of a supportive centre team

Experience working within an early childhood education or childcare environment will be highly regarded.
