• Regular intrastate travel and occasional interstate travel required

We are looking for an authentic, pragmatic, and proactive Safety, Health & Wellbeing Lead to partner with our Queensland team. If you thrive on embedding a true culture of care, translating insights into action, and protecting the health and mental wellbeing of team members across retail and hospitality, we want to hear from you.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:

Reporting directly to the Head of Safety, Health & Wellbeing Manager, you will serve as a key operational and advisory partner across our venue and retail network in Queensland. Your main mission is to prevent accidents, support legislative compliance, and drive our Safety, Health & Wellbeing Strategy on the ground.

Working autonomously while staying deeply connected to our field operations, you will travel across sites to coach teams, conduct site inspections, manage root-cause investigations, and advocate for holistic wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Queensland operations, Brand Managers, and site teams to seamlessly integrate safety into everyday operations.
• Lead Category 1 & 2 root-cause investigations (ICAM), assist with Category 3 & 4 reviews, manage notifiable incidents, and implement controls to prevent recurrence.
• Champion wellness programs across Queensland, ensuring a holistic approach to both the physical and mental health of our team members.
• Support our Safety Management System, assist with self-insurance audits, oversee regulatory compliance, and liaise directly with WorkSafe and external regulators.
• Analyze incident data and emerging themes to develop targeted risk assessments, safety alerts, work instructions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform new site opening safety inspections, coach area and state teams during onboarding, and deliver engaging WHS training programs.

Qualifications

We are seeking a curious, resilient, and collaborative safety partner who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You bring strong critical thinking skills and the ability to balance statutory requirements with practical operational needs.

Essential Requirements:

• Minimum Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety (Diploma preferred).
• ICAM Certification and a current, valid driver’s license.
• Strong WHS background with a solid grasp of retail and/or hospitality fundamentals.
• Deep understanding of the WHS Act, Regulations, Codes of Practice, and hazard management principles.
• Proven ability in root-cause investigation, data-driven planning, group facilitation, strategic stakeholder engagement, and project execution.
• Flexibility to undertake regular intrastate travel across QLD and occasional interstate trips.

Desirable Criteria:

• Knowledge of Return to Work / Injury Management and recovery processes.
