What your day could look like

As an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Liaison Officer, you'll help people feel supported, respected and understood during important moments in their healthcare journey. Working alongside patients, families, community partners and healthcare teams, you'll create meaningful connections that improve experiences and outcomes while contributing to healthier communities.

Every day, you'll contribute by:

• Building trusted relationships that help patients and families confidently navigate their healthcare journey.
• Strengthening communication between patients and care teams to support culturally safe and positive experiences.
• Connecting people with services, supports and opportunities that promote ongoing wellbeing.
• Sharing knowledge and insights that foster understanding, partnership and stronger community outcomes.

Here's what will help you thrive in this role:

• A relevant Certificate IV, Diploma or higher qualification in health, community services or a related field.
• Strong relationship-building, communication and advocacy skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively while balancing the needs of patients, families and care teams.
• A current C class driver's licence and a commitment to safe, high-quality service delivery.

You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience working in healthcare, community or culturally focused support services, and established community connections.
