Purchasing Officer

An exciting opportunity has just become available for an experienced Purchasing Officer to join our team at Yatala. This is an important role within the company and would suit an extremely well organised individual with a keen eye for detail, strong communication and time management skills, and can problem solve and plan ahead. 

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is highly organised, commercially minded and confident working with large ERP systems in a fast-paced purchasing and supply environment.

As a Purchasing Officer reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will support the day-to-day purchasing requirements of the business, ensuring materials and products are ordered accurately, delivered on time and available when required.

This is an onsite position only and is based in Yatala.

You will work closely with the Purchasing Manager, suppliers and internal teams across our manufacturing and building supplies operations.

·         Raise and manage purchase orders through our ERP system

·         Monitor stock requirements and advise Purchasing Manager

·         Provide support to liaise with suppliers regarding pricing, availability and delivery timeframes

·         Follow up outstanding and overdue purchase orders

·         Assist the Purchasing Manager review purchasing requirements and identify potential supply issues

·         Investigate and resolve purchasing and delivery discrepancies

·         Assist with stock take

·         Build and maintain strong supplier relationships

We are looking for someone who has:

·         Previous experience in Purchasing, Procurement, Inventory or Supply Chain

·         Experience with Timber and Hardware products would be highly regarded

·         Strong computer experience and confidence using large ERP systems

·         Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel

·         Strong attention to detail and accuracy

·         Good organisational and time-management skills

·         The ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment

·         Strong communication and supplier relationship skills

·         A practical, solutions-focused approach
