First, the important part

Miller Lane Aesthetics is a specialist brow and lash studio on Sydney's Lower North Shore. We are not a traditional beauty salon, and this is not a generalist beauty role. Nothing here is basic, standard or cookie-cutter.

Our work is narrow and deep: advanced facial mapping, precision brow design and hybrid dye application, precision waxing, brow lamination and Korean lash lifts. All of it delivered through our signature techniques and MLA Method — and it’s what our clients know us for.

That's why our clients book their next 4–6 appointments in advance, why our books fill 8 weeks ahead, and why the waitlist keeps growing.

We're hiring one permanent, full-time Senior Brow & Lash Artist to take on an established stream of demand and build a long-term client base of their own.

This is a senior role. You must already be performing brow and lash treatments independently in a professional studio or salon. If you're newly qualified, or brows and lashes have only been a small part of what you do, this isn't the role for you — please don't apply.

What you get

$75,000–$85,000 + super. Permanent, above-award, with paid annual leave, personal leave and public holidays, plus Saturday penalty rates on top. Where you sit in the band is decided by your hands — your skill and technique in a paid practical trial. Reviewed annually against your work.

Specialist training in the MLA Method. A structured, fully paid induction before your column opens — in-depth 1:1 technique refinement, including our signature golden-ratio facial mapping and hybrid dye application.

Clients from the beginning. The demand and the waitlist are already there, waiting for another experienced artist.

Sunday and Monday off. Every week. We trade Tuesday to Saturday only. Two consecutive days off are built into the role and they're not negotiable. Work/life balance is everything.

No retail targets. No discounting. No rushed appointments. We care about exceptional work, client retention and consistency — not pushing product or squeezing in one more booking.

A studio built for specialist work. Premium professional products, beautifully fitted individual stations, and a calm environment where you're given the time, technique training, and tools to do the work properly.

The non-negotiables

You must already have hands-on experience with all six:

Brow mapping and design — a strong foundational eye for shape, balance and facial proportion. We'll take that further through technique training in our advanced MLA Method.

Precision brow dye application — controlled, deliberate placement, with a real understanding of skin staining, saturation and clean lines.

Brow waxing — confident technique, temperature control, clean finishing, no skin lifting.

Brow lamination — practical experience with lamination systems, processing times and hair integrity.

Lash lifts — lifts, not extensions. Korean Lash Lift experience is a major advantage, not essential.

Contraindications and client safety — you know when not to wax, laminate or proceed with lifting chemistry, and you can explain why.

You'll also need

• Certificate III in Beauty Services or higher — Diploma of Beauty Therapy preferred

• Minimum 2 years' professional brow and lash experience in a studio or salon

• Unrestricted, ongoing Australian work rights (we're unable to offer sponsorship)

• Availability across our set 38-hour permanent roster: Tue 9–5 · Wed 9–5 · Thu 10–7:30 · Fri 9–4:30 · Sat 8–3:30

How we hire

Considered up front. Fast once we've found you.

1. Apply with your portfolio — attach a separate page alongside your resume with clear examples of your own work, especially before-and-afters. Applications without a portfolio won't be considered.

2. Meet us — a short initial conversation, then an in-studio interview for shortlisted artists.

3. Show us your work — a paid practical trial on a model client. This is where the offer and your position in the salary band are decided.

4. Offer — an outcome within 48 hours of your trial.

Interviews and practical trials are running now for a September/October start.

One last thing

This is a permanent career position. We're building a specialist team, not filling a gap, and we're looking for someone who wants to become known for their work and grow with us.

Our employment agreements include standard confidentiality, restraint and exclusivity provisions appropriate to the role. We're completely transparent about these and will walk shortlisted artists through the terms before any offer is accepted.
