Retaining Wall & Excavation Skilled Labour / Trades Person

About the role

This is a hands-on role working directly with experienced operators and builders on retaining wall construction, excavation, and site preparation. You'll gain experience in the full process of retaining wall construction, not just basic labouring. The role begins with a 3-month trial period, with the opportunity to move into a permanent 4-day work week for the right person.

Key responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting construction drawings and site plans

• Timber and concrete sleeper retaining wall installation

• Excavation and site preparation

• Steel post installation

• Drainage and backfilling

• General construction labour

• Operate machinery including excavators, a bobcat and forklift as required on job sites

About you

• Has a strong work ethic and positive attitude

• Team leader (advantage)

• Is proactive

• Has trade knowledge (a bonus)

• Is physically fit and comfortable working outdoors

• Is reliable and punctual

• Has reliable transport

• Holds a White Card (required)

• Has construction or landscaping experience

• Holds an HR/HC license

• Bobcat / Excavator license (a bonus)

• Is willing to work hard, learn, and take direction
