Our highly popular Cellar Door & Eatery is the heartbeat of our business, welcoming locals, visitors and wine lovers from around the world. As a family-owned business, we pride ourselves on exceptional hospitality, great food and wine, and creating experiences our customers remember.
We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Restaurant & Cellar Door Manager to lead our front-of-house operations and help take our hospitality offering to the next level.

This is a hands-on leadership position suited to someone who genuinely loves hospitality, enjoys being around people and takes pride in creating exceptional customer experiences.
Working closely with the owners and wider Ghost Rock team, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of the Restaurant and Cellar Door, lead and develop our hospitality team, and ensure consistently high standards across service, presentation and customer experience.
Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Restaurant & Cellar Door
Lead, motivate, train and develop the front-of-house team
Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure every guest receives a memorable experience
Maintain consistently high standards of service, presentation, cleanliness and organisation
Oversee Cellar Door operations, including wine tastings, sales and customer engagement
Maximise sales revenue through knowledgeable and genuine engagement with customers
Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth coordination between food and beverage service
Assist with menu development, food costing and maintaining appropriate margins
Manage restaurant and Cellar Door stock, ordering and supplier relationships
Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training and ongoing performance management of staff
Develop and implement efficient systems and procedures to improve the customer and team experience
Manage bookings, functions and special events as required
Ensure compliance with liquor licensing, food safety, workplace health and safety and relevant regulations
Handle customer enquiries and resolve any issues professionally and positively
Contribute to the ongoing growth and development of Ghost Rock’s hospitality offering
About You:
We are looking for a hospitality leader who is genuinely passionate about people, food and wine and who takes pride in delivering an exceptional experience every time.
Ideal candidates will have:
Previous experience in a restaurant, cellar door or hospitality management role
Strong food and wine knowledge, with a genuine interest in continuing to learn
Exceptional customer service and communication skills
Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a team
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
A strong understanding of restaurant and hospitality operations
Experience with stock management, ordering and cost control
The ability to remain calm, organised and professional in a busy environment
A positive attitude and a hands-on approach to leadership
High standards of personal presentation and professionalism
A current RSA for Tasmania
Flexibility to work weekdays and weekends, daytime hours only
