We’re looking for an experienced Design Manager to join our Sunshine Coast team and lead the design delivery of major commercial Design & Construct projects valued up to $80 million. Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll play a key role from project conversion through to construction, working closely with clients, consultants and project delivery teams to ensure outstanding project outcomes. About the role

Working closely with our Pre-Construction, Procurement and Project Delivery teams, you’ll lead the design management process across multiple commercial projects, ensuring design, programme, quality and commercial objectives are achieved.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the design management process across commercial Design & Construct projects
• Managing consultant teams from project conversion through to construction completion
• Developing and managing design programmes to achieve project milestones
• Identifying value engineering opportunities that improve project outcomes
• Managing design risk and resolving complex technical issues before construction
• Working closely with estimating, procurement and project teams to support successful project delivery
• Building strong relationships with clients, consultants and key project stakeholders
• Driving continuous improvement across design management processes and project delivery.

About you

You’ll already have experience leading the design management of commercial construction projects and enjoy working collaboratively to deliver successful Design & Construct outcomes. Ideally you’ll bring:

• Significant Design Management experience within commercial construction
• Demonstrated success delivering Design & Construct projects
• Strong consultant management and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience developing and managing design programmes
• A sound understanding of buildability, value engineering and design risk
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A collaborative leadership style with the ability to mentor and influence project teams
• A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or a related discipline.
