About the role

You will be part of a commercially focused legal team which provides legal services across a variety of areas. You will be mentored by a Senior Associate and receive guidance from a Partner.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and analysis on commercial law matters, including contracts, corporate governance, intellectual property, employment law, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance.

• Prepare, draft, review and negotiate a broad range of legal documents, including commercial agreements, corporate documents, employment agreements, governance documents, policies and correspondence.

• Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice to clients on a range of legal and business matters, commensurate with experience and under appropriate supervision where required.

• Manage client matters from commencement to completion, ensuring work is delivered accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with client expectations and professional obligations.

• Attend and lead client meetings, both in-person and online, take instructions, identify legal and commercial risks, and develop tailored solutions for clients.

• Manage transactions, projects and legal matters, including coordinating with clients, counterparties, external advisers, regulators and other stakeholders.

• Prepare legal documents, reports, advice and correspondence with a focus on accuracy, clarity, commercial relevance and risk management.

• Maintain legal files and records in accordance with firm procedures, legal requirements and professional standards.

• Monitor legislative, regulatory and industry developments and proactively identify matters that may impact clients or the firm's practice areas.

• Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication, high-quality service and a commercial approach to legal problem-solving.

About you

• Completed a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) from a recognised Australian institution.

• Completed the Practical Legal Training (PLT) and be admitted to practice.

• Foundational knowledge of Australian legal principles, particularly in commercial law (or other relevant practice area).

• Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience working in a legal environment and drafting legal documents, correspondence, and basic contracts.
