Guillotine operator

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Guillotine operator to join the team at CMYKhub. This is a full-time position based in Keilor Park, Victoria. As a Guillotine operator, you will play a crucial role in our printing and publishing operations, ensuring that all paper cutting tasks are completed to the highest standards of precision and safety. This position is essential to maintaining the quality and efficiency of our production processes.

Key responsibilities

• Operating industrial guillotines to cut paper and other materials to precise specifications

• Reading and interpreting cutting specifications from job tickets and production schedules

• Setting up guillotine equipment, including blade alignment and safety guards

• Measuring and checking materials to ensure accuracy before and after cutting

• Maintaining cutting records and documenting production output

• Performing routine maintenance and cleaning of guillotine machinery

• Adhering to all workplace health and safety protocols and procedures

• Inspecting finished work for quality control and identifying any defects

• Assisting with material handling and organisation of work areas

• Communicating with team members and supervisors regarding production progress

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Guillotine operator in a printing or publishing environment

• Strong understanding of guillotine machinery operation and maintenance

• Excellent attention to detail and precision in measurements

• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and job requirements

• Knowledge of workplace health and safety standards relevant to printing operations

• Physical capability to perform manual handling and repetitive tasks

• Reliable, punctual and committed to maintaining consistent quality standards

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to work independently whilst contributing to a collaborative team environment

• Certification in workplace health and safety (or willingness to obtain) is highly desirable
