About the Role
Acadia Development Pty Ltd is a residential construction company seeking an organised and responsible Procurement Manager to coordinate purchasing, supply and delivery activities across our building projects. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, site supervisors, subcontractors, local suppliers and overseas suppliers to ensure materials, fixtures, fittings and equipment are ordered correctly and delivered to site on time.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage day-to-day procurement activities for residential construction projects.
· Prepare, organise and regularly update project procurement schedules and material lists.
· Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors and subcontractors to confirm required materials, quantities, specifications and delivery dates.
· Review construction drawings, specifications and selections to identify purchasing requirements and ordering deadlines.
· Source building materials, fixtures, fittings and equipment from Australian and overseas suppliers.
· Request and compare quotations, product specifications, lead times, shipping costs and delivery terms.
· Negotiate pricing, payment terms and delivery arrangements with suppliers.
· Prepare purchase orders and maintain accurate records of orders, invoices, warranties and product documentation.
· Track orders and shipments, identify possible delays and follow up to ensure timely delivery.
· Resolve issues involving incorrect, damaged, missing or delayed goods.
· Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, subcontractors and logistics providers.
Skills and Experience
· Previous experience in construction procurement, purchasing, supply chain or project coordination.
· Good knowledge of residential building materials, fixtures, fittings and construction processes.
· Candidates with previous overseas procurement experience will be highly regarded.
· Ability to compare quotations, product specifications, shipping costs and lead times.
· Ability to read product specifications.
· Strong organisational, communication and negotiation skills.
· Good attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
· Competency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
