ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for excellent First Fix or Second Fix Carpenters to join our teams on residential work right across the Perth metro area. New builds, renovations and maintenance.

First fix: roof carpentry, wall framing, subfloors, cladding and decking. Second fix: door hanging, skirting, architraves and internal fit-out.

You don't need to be strong at both. Tell us where your strength is, we'll put you where you're best, and we'll teach you the rest if you want it.

The work's scheduled. The materials are ordered. The crew's sorted. You turn up, dial in, do quality work and go home.

Hours: Monday to Friday, generally 7:00am to 3:30pm on site, plus overtime where a job requires it.

Location: All of our work is in the Perth metro area. Office and yard in Cockburn Central, sites right across the metro. No FIFO. No regional. No interstate. Home every night.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• First fix, second fix, or both, depending on where your strength is

• Roof carpentry, wall framing, subfloors, cladding and decking

• Hanging doors, skirting, architraves and internal fit-out

• Working from plans on new builds, renovations and maintenance

• Keeping your area of the site safe, clean and organised

• Working alongside apprentices and passing on what you know

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You must have:

• Carpentry Trade Certificate (Cert III in Carpentry or equivalent)

• Minimum 5 years post-trade experience

• Solid experience in first fix, second fix, or both. One is enough

• Ability to read and interpret plans

• White Card

• Valid driver's licence

You'll also bring:

What we offer:

• $90,000 to $110,000 per year, plus 12% superannuation on top

A NOTE ON WHERE THIS GOES

Our tradesmen work their way up into Team Leader positions. That's the normal path here, not the exception.

We've graduated 10 apprentices into qualified tradesmen, stepped 15 tradesmen up into Team Leaders over the last eight years, and 10 of our people have gone on to start small businesses of their own. You don't get a record like that by holding people back.

And if you're happy on the tools and want to stay there, that's a respectable answer too. We'll keep making you better either way.

ABOUT B & P CARPENTRY

B & P Carpentry started in 2017. Two Western Australian carpenters from Bunbury who went out on their own and wanted to do it properly. We've built it since on reliability, accountability, teamwork and respect.

That's taken us from a two-man crew to 25 full-time employees, and we're just getting started.
